Shoe Art.
I painted my Vans shoes for the 65th anniversary party of the
apo view hotel
. Because any time you can get away with wearing comfy shoes with your suit and tie, you do it.
First brush. Always the scariest.
And I dub thee: 65th Legacy Kicks.

this week in asia...
oh, the perils of moving to a new continent through 4 cities & 3 countries in 2 weeks AND catching 3 book deadlines.
a quick sketch after witnessing my lightbox explode (so much for flying it from the states. curse you, 220v watts!):
but when a sunday picnic entails this -> a 20 minute boat ride to crystal clear waters on an island blanketed by coconut trees, it's easy to forget why i "doodle raged" the other day:
a big fat mexican history book, my flat stanley bookmark & THAT VIEW.
really, mac? were the horns even necessary?
:
for curious minds, this is what i'm reading. all 832 pages. it looks like i may never get mexico out of my head:

davao '02
found some old photos of my home city, davao, in a forgotten envelope. i took these when i was on vacation. still a struggling art student. no career. not sure of the future. just full of ideas.
i liked how these photos came out. the color & that authentic grainy look. no edits. just some awkward crops to show what i was really looking at.
made me wish i took these on old polaroids scratched up by time. because that's how i see these now. a time machine on pulp. they may only be 6 years old, but so much has happened since then. to me, they might as well be decades old.
