This was a tricky one.
How do you design a poster for an event that implies fun + helping typhoon disaster relief? To me, images of people were out of the question. There is also the risk of being too specific and exploitative.
In the end, I went with one of the first images that I saw from a friend's facebook post days after the storm. It was a photograph of coconut trees surviving the calamity even if half of it were torn away by the forceful winds. There is sadness there, but also hope.

Yes, I'm still alive. Just a tad busy this year.
Below is a poster I did last night for a new weekly event at The Blue Room, a local Davao bar.
It was my first time designing an event poster & I enjoyed it. Originally, I planned to have it replicate the painted concert posters genre (good stuff here), but I had to add the hotel's logo somewhere (bar is located in the hotel) and noticed that it looked similar enough to the old DC Comics logo. Hence, the comic book cover feel.
Underwater zombie rave. There, I said it.
